What is Airflow Cleaning?
Airflow is a relatively new dental hygiene treatment which thoroughly cleans your teeth, gums and mouth. Airflow gently but effectively removes stubborn stains from teeth caused by frequent consumption of food and drink such as coffee, red wine, tea and spicy foods.
Airflow dental treatment also removes plaque and reaches deep into the periodontal pockets in your mouth removing bacteria from all the hard-to-reach places.
Patients at our Mayfair and Guildford clinics are choosing Airflow dental cleaning as a more comfortable and effective alternative to traditional scale and polish. This advanced treatment removes stains and plaque gently, leaving your teeth feeling cleaner and your smile noticeably brighter.
How does Airflow Cleaning work?
Airflow uses a gentle stream of warm water, fine powder, and air to clean your teeth and gums. The jet removes plaque, stains, and bacteria without physically touching your teeth.
Because there is no scraping, it is a great option if you have sensitive teeth or feel anxious about traditional cleanings. The gentle approach makes the experience much more comfortable, especially if you have had sensitivity or discomfort with dental cleanings in the past.
As it moves across your teeth and gums, the jet reaches into areas that are hard to clean at home, including deep between teeth and just below the gums. This helps remove hidden plaque and bacteria while leaving your mouth feeling fresh and noticeably cleaner.
What are the benefits of Airflow Cleaning?
Airflow makes your teeth look better and your whole mouth healthier. Here is why patients love it:
Comprehensive deep clean
It clears away plaque, stains, and bacteria from all the places your toothbrush can’t reach, including between your teeth and just under the gums.
Whiter teeth and fresher breath
Most people notice a brighter smile and a much fresher feeling in their mouth after just one session.
Gentle and comfortable
There is no scraping or pressure on your teeth, which makes it a great choice if you have sensitivity or usually find cleanings uncomfortable.
Safe for all dental work
Airflow works well around crowns, veneers, implants, and bridges — it gives you a proper clean without damaging anything.
Protects your gum health
Airflow reaches deep into the pockets around your gums to clear out hidden bacteria, helping to prevent gum disease, gingivitis, and bad breath before they start.
Great for adults and kids
Whether it is part of your regular hygiene routine or your child’s first dental clean, Airflow is safe, gentle, and effective for all ages.
Airflow Dental Cleaning in London & Guildford FAQ
I have recently had a crown fitted. Can I still get Airflow?
Airflow can be safely used on all dental restorations including crowns, bridges, dental implants and veneers.
How often should I get Airflow teeth cleaning treatment?
This will vary with each patient. A lot will depend upon your oral hygiene and your lifestyle. If you thoroughly clean your teeth twice a day and avoid consuming food and drink that are likely to stain your teeth, then the effects of Airflow will be longer lasting. You may not need another teeth cleaning treatment again for 6 months or a year. Other patients may need to book for another Airflow treatment after just a few months.
Can everyone get Airflow dental treatment?
Airflow can be used on most adults and children. There are a few restrictions which means Airflow cannot be given to people with certain medical conditions and these are mainly related to respiratory illnesses. Your hygienist at Levitas Dental Clinic will talk to you about whether you are suitable before starting Airflow dental treatment.
