What's Involved

Knocked out tooth
If a tooth is knocked out, keep it in cold milk or hold it between your cheek and gum, and contact us immediately. Speed is critical — a tooth reimplanted within the hour has the best chance of survival.

Painful swelling
Painful facial swelling can indicate a dental abscess or spreading infection requiring urgent treatment. Contact us immediately — do not leave this untreated, as dental infections can become serious.

What to Expect
Same-Day Emergency Slots
We reserve emergency appointments every day at both our London and Guildford locations. If you are in pain, call us — we will find a way to see you as quickly as possible.
What to Do In an Emergency
While waiting for your appointment: manage pain with paracetamol (not aspirin), apply a cold compress for swelling, and avoid hot or cold foods if you have a broken tooth or exposed nerve.
Out-of-Hours Guidance
If you need help outside clinic hours, contact NHS 111 for triage and advice. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
Lost Crowns and Fillings
A lost crown or filling can leave a tooth sensitive and vulnerable. Call us promptly — we can often see you the same day and re-cement or replace the restoration to restore comfort and protection.
